SuZu Kin Japanese Restaurant In San Antonio Village Makati

This is SuZu Kin Japanese Restaurant located in San Antonio Village Makati. This place had been around for more than a decade and a half.  I can still remember eating here with my parents when I was still in pre-school.

Looking at the prices in the menu, you would realize that the price is cheap considering the serving size and how authentic their Japanese food taste and look like.  I always eat here because this is my favorite Japanese restaurant, at least now I got the chance to bring my camera. Most of the time I order their mixed sashimi, Ebi tempura plus their specialty fried rice it more like a Japanese version of the Chinese Yang Chow fried rice. Only it’s a bit sticky than Jasmine rice and it’s different in color & taste.
This time we ordered something else! Because my boyfriend is sick we ordered chicken ramen for him. Which is very cute because of all the eatable designs and it smells healthy too. I tried the soup and it’s very yummy. Very similar to the soup you make to cook for Shabu-shabu.

It also comes with Japanese Chili Powder

I got their pork Tonaktsu. It is pork and egg on top of rice, it’s the yummiest Pork Tonkatsu I’ve ever tasted in my life. And it even comes with a free miso soup. Super yummy I recommend you go here if you are a fan of good Japanese food. This is JDM eating! Helene!

I love Suzu Kin!! I just want to share other photos I've taken.

Johnson's Baby Cologne

Don't you just miss using the bottles shown in the picture? I haven't tried them all yet but I will because I am looking for a signature scent that I can use. Which means I need to turn my back from my favorite perfumes and give them away. Even VS, Bath and Body Works or Calgon body sprays are not allowed. I was diagnosed with skin asthma two months ago and I was advised to only use Cetaphil or other baby products for bath and as moisturizers. I am not allowed to use perfumes and I can only use baby colognes.

The last Johnson's baby cologne I had was bought by my Mom and Dad years ago when I was still a kid. Now this is the first time I ever bought and paid for a bottle of "Regular scent" Johnson's baby cologne for personal use. I was able to use it for 10 days it's almost gone now but I'm planning to keep that much content in the bottle so that I can collect my purchased scents and help me choose what will be my favorite or signature scent. This 50ML bottle cost PHP32 not a bad expense for a week supply of scent. I love the smell that it makes me want to grab some crayons and and start coloring a bunch of blank papers and turn back the hands of time when I can still physically hug my Mom and Dad.
The smell is light and fresh... It's got that right off the shower scent. Plus the smell will be okay to be used by male and female adults it's not too sweet smelling or too masculine. I'm starting to enjoy my skin asthma now.
This is my second purchase and it's from the Johnson's "Playtime Collection" the scent name is "slide"! I believe that this product is supposed to be unisex because there's a girl and boy cartoon in the bottle. It might be okay for all babies and toddlers. But the smell is too sweet to be used by men. Somewhere in between flowery and fruity that's why I love it! I am now very tempted to stick with this smell and no longer try the other scents available because the smell is so cute! Light, fresh and sweet. But I will try to buy the complete collection this payday so that I'll be able to experience and use all scents available.

I might add photos of this blog of every new bottle I will try and write about the bottle I will choose to be my signature scent

Ilonggo Grill's "Kansi Bulalo"

Earlier today we visited Harison Plaza in Manila and look for a good Filipino food to eat. We went to Ilonggo Grill and the waitress suggested that we order a popular Iloilo version of bulalo which is called "Kansi Bulalo"according to her it's almost the same as the traditional bulalo only it's a little sour similar to sinigang sa sampalok. We are hesitant at first but since we are a big fan of soup dishes we decided to give it a try it's good for two for only PHP198

This is the unattractive photo posted in the restaurant fortunately the real thing is much better. So after a few minutes our order arrived.

This our order of "Kansi Bulalo" The waitress told us that the serving is good for two but surprisingly this bowl can serve up to 4 people with really big appetites. The taste is also great and new. I am used to preparing in a small bowl 2 limes 2 tbsp. fish sauce and 1chili cut in half. But with this dish you can cut off the lime.

It was served really hot! They should change the photo they have hanging in the restaurant for people to be interested enough to try it. What was served to us was far better than what we are expecting. It was a nice experience eating a bulalo with a new twist very yummy there's a fine balance of sourness somewhere between a sinigang sa sampalok and a citrus blend of juice in a good way. The serving for two is too much you can still bring a couple of friends with you.

This is a part of their wall type menu.. It looks old already and some of the dishes in this menu is no longer available

A Place Formerly Know As "Steak it"

My boyfriend and I are looking for a place to eat in Tagaytay around 11:00pm. We are supposed to go to Army Navy or Yellow Cab but we decided to look for a place to eat that can't be found in Manila. Unfortunately all local native restaurants in Tagaytay are already closed until we saw the place formerly known as "Steak it". the photo above is one of the walls of the place so went inside and surprisingly even if there's a big signage with the name Steak it on. The menu is a little different compared to how it was way September of 2009.

Most items are taped now and no longer available I am a bit disappointed with what happened to this place although considering the prices.. It's okay..

We had just water and a glass of Royal because there's no coke or other drinks available. We waited for less than 10 minutes for our 2 T-bone steaks and mashed potatoes to arrive which is not bad... Their customer service is really great.

This is what my boyfriend had a well done T-bone steak.. Even if they didn't asked us how we want our steaks to be done but it's okay considering the size of the steak and how nice it taste. It just cost PHP89 with rice and buttered veggies.

And this is my order another well done T-bone steak which is just the way I like it.

This is our single order of mashed potatoes and the price is just 10 pesos for 2 scoops. It's not as tasty and creamy as what I am expecting. And the actual size of their serving is the size of a 5 peso coin in Diameter. But the great thing about it that would make me buy it again is it tastes like real potatoes far from what you can eat in other fast food catering restaurants.

This is the receipt of what we ate not bad for 2 large T-bone steak, orders of mashed potatoes, 1 extra rice, and a glass of Royal considering the taste of what they serve and the size plus the great service from people working in the restaurant they even took our picture.

Shakey's For Our 20th

July 17 2010 our 20th. We decided to eat heavy in Shakey's Magallanes this is our first time to be in Shakey's together. We didn't order pizza because it will hurt our pockets big time with the current budget we have when we checked the Menu.

For our drinks we ordered 1 refillable soda because my boyfriend have this kind of addiction or more of an obsession on sodas. For me we asked for several glasses of water because my doctor advised me to drink water only every now and then.

See? He's so happy even if our order is taking more than 20 minutes to arrive.. Again.. That's because of  his unlimited coke!

Now this is me very happy with the "Spaghetti Platter" only PHP253 which is supposed to be good for 4-5

Aside from the Spaghetti Platter we also had 3 pieces of Buffalo wings for just PHP178, a loaf of garlic bread that came free with the spaghetti platter and a basket of mojos for PHP85.
It's just nice that we've eaten 4 different dishes that satisfied our hunger and taste buds for less than the price of 1 family size pizza from Shakey's.

After more than an hour of endless chit -chats, eating and tummy aching laughs.. This happened to the friendly meal earlier
It was like eaten by Two angry and hungry monsters Gosh! What kind of appetite do we have?

Old Dampa in Paranaque

Today is like a post celebration of my birthday with my family. We decided to have it on lunch time because my boyfriend and I have work scheduled at 4pm and we're going to spend it with my tita Beng, cousin Goy with his girlfriend Rio, my sister and her three kids. Because it's 2pm and all of us haven't eaten our lunch yet I was not able take pictures of the facade of Shylin Restaurant.

This is the picture of the Original Dampa Market in Paranaque near the Airport

This is my sister and her son picking yummy female crabs those crabs have orange eggs while the male crabs have the greening browning thing in their shells. We love the female crabs.

Approximately these are what we bought and spent in the Market
1. 1 Kilo of female crabs medium sized Php320
2. 1 Kilo Liempo Php90
3. 1 Kilo Squid Php120
4. 1 Kilo Maya-maya head Php250
5. 1 Kilo oysters Php100
6. 1 Kilo snails Php100
7. 1/4 Kilo sea weeds Php60
Total: Php1,140

Not bad for a 6 1/4 kilo of food to eat though we realized that we over shopped for food but so what it's my birthday!!!! Wuhooo!!

The first photo of the waiting for our food moment around 2:45pm without our first meal of the day

Second waiting for our food moment with me and my boyfriend...

After a few moments our food finally arrived:
These are some of the food we ate that I was able to take picture of:
This is the photo of just the half serving of the 1 Kilo
"Maya-maya Sinigang sa Miso" The main reason why I craved and firmly decide to eat in Dampa I love the freshness of the fish, the sourness of the soup and texture and the veggies that came with it.
Cooking charge: Php140 for 1 Kilo and Php80 for 1/2 Kilo

This is the photo of just the half serving of the 1 Kilo

"Crab in Garlic and Butter" This is the first time that I was able to eat crab in garlic and butter obviously it's far different from the steamed crab that I am used to eating. This dish is very yummy there is sweetness that improved the whole experience of the crab, there's the strong garlic and butter combination smell that would make you eat it even if you're full.
Cooking charge: Php160 for 1 Kilo and Php90 for 1/2 Kilo

This is the photo of just the half serving of the 1 Kilo
"Squid Calamares" It's not very tasty and a little similar to the ones you can find in the streets. But the texture is better and you can taste how clean the oil used to cook this.
Cooking charge: Php160 for 1 Kilo and Php90 for 1/2 Kilo

1/4 seaweeds
"The Seaweed Salad" As always the taste is very fresh and beach like really nice when eaten alone or with other food.
Charge: Php90

This is the photo of just the half serving of the 1 Kilo
"Snails with Coconut Milk" My boyfriend and I enjoyed eating this dish because of the taste of the sea and the creamy texture of the sauce from the coconut milk.
Cooking charge: Php160 1 Kilo Php90 1/2 Kilo

We also had
"Oysters baked with cheese, garlic and butter" and the taste is so good! I forgot to take pictures of it. It was all gone before I remembered.. It was that! YUMMY!
Cooking charge: Php160 1 Kilo Php90 1/2 Kilo

"Inihaw na Liempo" It was perfectly grilled and marinated without ketchup! That's why it was really great because I don't eat Ketchup

The prices in the market is okay and not very expensive. The drinks in the restaurant are just a little pricey for me so I suggest you bring a big bottle of soda if there's no corkage fee.
But for the overall experience.. It was nice and not as expensive as I was expecting because again we ate 6 1/4 Kilos of food plus rice etc etc. The servers know how to give a good customer service experience they are very kind and accommodating, the place is comfortable because even if the A/C is old it's still well functioning.
It was an affordable, comfortable, fun, and SUPER YUMMY EXPERIENCE!

These are some photos of my family
